Our annual Burns Supper will return to The Altadena Town & Country Club again in 2014. Once again music will be provided by Speyside. Speyside is Southern California's new Scottish Country Dance band. It's driven by the rousing guitar of Peter Romano; the virtuosic fiddle of Chris Loken; and the sizzling accordion of Aedan MacDonnell. You won't be able to sit still when this hot new group takes the band stand. Aedan will also entertain us with the lilting melodies of the harp, played in her own inimicable style, coupled with the misty views of the San Gabriel mountains you will be forgiven for thinking you are indeed in the glens of Scotland.
Of course our own Cindi McIntosh will lead the procession of the haggis with her highland bagpipes, plus much more…
In addition to the wonderful music of Scotland you will feast on a three course meal including choice of Filet Mignon Sheppards Pie, Scottish Salmon, or a Vegetarian Dish … and of course the Haggis.
The time honored tradition of the addresses wil be made beginning with the Address to The Haggis, the Toast to The Immortal Memory, the Toast to The Lassies, and of course the reply …
What Burns celebration would be complete without whisky and ours will include a whisky tasting provided by one of the preeminent whisky distillers represented here in southern California.
